Homeyopathy was conceived of by interior artist, Shayna Mordue. Her love of design began as a child designing her ultimate "dream home." Although she did not circle back to design until her late twenties, when she did it can be described as nothing short of a burst! After a visit to a historic property in Montecito, CA, her passion for design hit her like a ton of bricks. So began her artistic journey, first focusing on historic Spanish Colonial restorations.

 

          However, as Shayna met clients and worked intimately with them on their homes (designers often play therapist as well), she realized so many people were actually suffering in their spaces! Either they felt depressed, overwhelmed, anxious, distracted, or overly stimulated. Instantly, she rebranded her company as Homeyopathy. Her clients needed design cures for their everyday lives. They weren't just trying to improve their spaces, they needed to improve their everyday lives.

 

          Shayna began heavily researching the connection between design and architecture on our brains. She was sure there must be answers in neuroscience to explain why people were reacting so intensely to their surroundings. Low and behold... a handful of scientists were reporting on just such findings. Using this knowledge, as well as studies from psychologists and environment experts, Shayna created a holistic approach for interior design.
